I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Are you dreaming of a White Christmas? This Elegant White, Gold and Silver Christmas Home tour is just the inspiration.

Our home owner completely renovated her home and decided to soften the home's color scheme. The white floors, rugs and light patterned furniture beckoned for a new light and bright Christmas theme. All shades of white, gold and silver were incorporated on the Christmas Tree and throughout the home. The 3 key ingredients ribbon, balls and florals helped to create this dreamy white Christmas.

The all white fireplace was decorated with a beautiful faux green garland resting on the mantel, while the Merry Christmas banner drapes below. The coordinating wreath adds just the right finishing touch. We love the white gold shatter proof Christmas balls seen on the garland, wreath and tree. 

The family room called for a little more color to compliment the room's colorful rug. One thing to remember is, your Christmas theme does not have to be the same through out your home. You can have a peppermint themed kitchen and still decorate your living room with just golds and silvers. We focus on coordinating with the decor of the room. The pink, gold and turquoise found in the rug is mimicked in the garland. 

The beautiful tall ceilings and openness of the room called for a 12 food trim Christmas Tree. The large over-sized silver balls are perfect for the size of tree, and they reflect the beauty of the room. Some people think you have to choose, silver or gold, but as you can see in this home, you can do them both! 

A closeup shows off the beautiful bows of 3-4 combined ribbons. We love the oversized Merry Christmas ornament, and for a tree this size, we used 3 of them to place around the tree. The theme is completed with the frosted and glittered leaves and poinsettias. 

The 2nd story banister is decorated with faux green garlands, silver and gold ball garlands and bows in the center. TIP: By using a Faux garland and a neutral ball garland, you can create transitional decor pieces that can be hung through out the fall and Christmas season. Just add some fall leaves, or a cute pumpkin sign in place of the bow, then switch it out when Christmas comes.

TIP: When shopping for faux garlands, you want to have a strong wire in the middle with greenery that has a bristle to it. The greenery is made from a shredded ply of vinyl, so the thicker the ply of vinyl the more bristle and the more bristle the more you can fluff the garland to look real each year. Soft greenery will smash and look limp after one year.

The front entry console is decorated with different collected Christmas pieces.  When you shop, gather everything in your theme or color story. The Mark Robert's gold, white and black Nutcracker stands at attention guarding the gold Christmas tree, gold and white Santa and smaller gold nutcracker. Picture frames, candles and a gold joy sign all compliment the owner's lamps. The white sparkle garland woven throughout connects each of the decorations. 

We cherish each family's special ornaments that have been collected over the years. Sometimes, if you do not feel that your ornaments go with your theme, you can decorate a family tree with all of the collected and cherished ornaments. Here, we added some gold, white and black and white ornaments to coordinate with the tree in the next room. The 3 key ingredients Ribbon, Balls and Florals, are used to balance the assortment of ornaments hung in the tree. The black and white, silver and gold, and pops of red completes the tree. 

A beautiful entrance welcomes guests for the holiday season. The large teardrop and Merry Christmas ornament on the front door, gives a glimpse of the White Christmas Wonderland inside.
